Just returned from a wedding there and it was a great little site. Once turning into the complex, it was a little hard to find the restaurant among construction and the other buildings, but when we finally did locate it it was a unique little venue. Once inside there is a main fairly sized room that can be set up with tables and chairs. Walking outside the main room, you exit out onto the balcony that overlooks the waterfront and offers a stunning oceanfront view. Don't be too confused if you see signage for the University of Miami because it is housed in a building for the University of Miami School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. While I don't live in Miami,I think this would be a nice venue for a wedding, baby shower, bridal shower, or other event if you live in the area. Just make sure this is adequate signage to make sure your guests are directed to the right building.

Yes Salt Waterfront Restaurant is a school cafeteria during the day, but is delicious wholesome food nonetheless. Prices are very reasonable, it's self serve so no tipping the wait staff, and the view is amazing. We have seen dolphins and eagle rays jumping just off the patio. In the evening Wed- Fri, Salt becomes a bar which serves some great micro brews as well as wine and liquor for great prices. The bar food is tasty and huge portions! Worth the drive over Rickenbacker Cswy.

Bar on UM campus and it's the best place ever!!! Food is amazing and drink prices are way reasonable!!!

Do not go to Salt. They do not have gorgeous views of the water. They do not have a great selection of craft beer on tap and in bottles that is more affordable than any other place in Miami. It is most definitely not full of interesting people that do interesting things. Their bar food is not tasty. I live in DC now and can't bear to know that more people are experiencing this terrible place when I cannot. So, please stay away - it's for your own good.

Well, this place is a school cafeteria. We didn't stay and eat, but it looked like the view is amazing. Not a regular place. It's located on the UM Campus, in the back. Not quite sure why this is in Yelp, to be honest. Cool location, beautiful, sweeping views of the water, but it is a school cafeteria at the end of the day. Skip, unless you want the buffet style, menu of the day that schools offer. No comment about the food since we didn't eat. 2 stars because of the view. Can't rate on anything else.
